While working at the College of Podiatric Medicine in Des Moines, IA, I achieved the rank of Associate Professor of Podiatric Medicine and was tenured. Prior to going into private practice, I trained over 100 interns and 12 podiatric residents. I am board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, and I have been re-certified 2 more times in each board. On three separate occasions I have been an oral examiner for the Board of Podiatric Medicine, and, on one occasion, I helped create the written exam for board applicants.

Dr. Laco's Care Philosophy
The care philosophy at the Lakeville and Dakota Foot Clinics is to resolve the patient's problem or pathology with conservative care first. If conservative care does not resolve the patient's problem adequately, surgical intervention/correction will be pursued. For example, 99% of plantar fasciitis can be resolved without an in-office partial plantar fasciotomy. Due to high deductibles, every attempt is made to minimize costs to the patient. All treatment options are discussed with the patient, and I feel it is important for the patient to understand the pathology of their particular problem. Before leaving the room on the initial visit, I always ask "Do you have any questions?"
