Dr. Laco's Care Philosophy

The care philosophy at the Lakeville and Dakota Foot Clinics is to resolve the patient's problem or pathology with conservative care first. If conservative care does not resolve the patient's problem adequately, surgical intervention/correction will be pursued. For example, 99% of plantar fasciitis can be resolved without an in-office partial plantar fasciotomy. Due to high deductibles, every attempt is made to minimize costs to the patient. All treatment options are discussed with the patient, and I feel it is important for the patient to understand the pathology of their particular problem. Before leaving the room on the initial visit, I always ask "Do you have any questions?"

My experience with Dr. Laco and his staff were absolutely amazing. The appointments were easy to make and they never kept me waiting. The gals up front were also very helpful with my FMLA and insurance benefits. Everything went extremely smooth. I found Dr. Laco to be on point with my diagnoses, treatment plan and follow up. He personally made calls to me to ensure I was healing properly after my surgery and addressed all of my concerns. I strongly recommend him and his staff.

Dr. Laco says...

I have been practicing podiatric medicine and surgery for 30 years, and I am board certified in all three boards in podiatry.

I perform multiple types of surgical correction for foot maladies such as bunions, hammertoes, neuromas, heel spurs, and Haglund's deformities. These are performed on an outpatient basis at a hospital or surgery center under twilight sedation.

In the office, I treat such problems as ingrown toenails, warts, fungal nails, corns, and callouses. I also specialize in treating plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, posterior tibial tendinitis, strains, sprains, and fractures. I provide complete foot care from children's flat footedness and in- and out-toeing gait to diabetic foot care and geriatric palliation.

Expertise in specific procedures include, but not limited to: permanent ingrown toenail resolution, treatment of onychomycosis topically as well as orally, in-office partial plantar fasciotomies, and removal of foreign bodies.

The Lakeville Foot Clinic has computer scanning capabilities to provide the most accurate image of the foot for fabrication of functional custom orthotics, which treat a number of conditions to include, but not limited to, plantar fasciitis, neuromas, Achilles tendinitis, posterior tibial tendinitis, limb length discrepancy, ankle instability, and in some cases low back and knee pain. Most orthotics fabricated are considered sport orthotics; however, specialty orthotics can be ordered to help prevent ulcers or recurrent painful callosities. Orthotics are also helpful to slow down the progression of bunion and hammertoe deformities.
