Dr. Jennifer Ries is a licensed clinical psychologist at Palm Beach Behavioral Health and Wellness. Dr. Ries is widely versed in assessment and treatment of dual diagnoses with Autism Spectrum Disorders, atypical and typical development/behavior of infants and toddlers, and other learning disorders/academic difficulties. She specializes in treatment and assessment of developmental differences from birth through adulthood. Dr. Ries is passionate about providing accurate diagnoses and recommendations, guiding families through the process, and building skills within her clients. She utilizes and supports a holistic multidisciplinary approach to treatment and incorporates family input in treatment planning as well. Throughout her training, professional, and personal experiences, Dr. Ries was most inspired to pursue her area of focus when she saw older children that were not yet identified with autism, which resulted in beginning intervention at much later ages. It was then that she dedicated much of her clinical work and research to identifying autism at earlier ages, training professionals, and seeking resources to alleviate the financial burden for parents. Dr. Ries is very passionate about training others, as she teaches courses and provides mentoring to those writing masters thesis projects, as to further develop the field. Dr. Ries earned her doctorate in School Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. In Colorado, Dr. Ries completed a Leadership in Education and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) pre-doctoral fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus with JFK Partners and the Children's Hospital Colorado. She holds a Masters degree from Barry University and a Bachelors in Psychology from the University at Albany in New York. Dr. Ries completed her predoctoral internship at the Center for Assessment and Intervention at Nova Southeastern University and was the chief postdoctoral resident at Nova Southeastern University's Mailman Segal Center for Human Development. She remained to supervise the Unicorn Children's Foundation Clinic at Nova Southeastern University, which is the autism diagnostic clinic on campus, before joining Palm Beach Behavioral Health & Wellness in 2016.
