My basic approach to therapy is to help the client/family to identify and build on current strengths and become more aware of ways to use these strengths while also developing new skills (including new ways of thinking and interacting) that will be helpful in addressing the concerns that are presently causing stress/distress for the client/family. My experience is most extensive in the treatment of children, adolescents and their families (including ADHD, behavior problems, anxiety, and parenting issues), although I also provide mental health services to adults and couples.At the initial session we will discuss the reasons for coming for treatment, gather relevant information, and begin to establish the goals for treatment.
