Dr. Jana Crim is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. While in optometry school, she was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and was honored with the COVD Award for Excellence in Vision Therapy. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology from Samford University, where she graduated cum laude and was an active member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Dr. Crim moved to Franklin with her husband, Jay, and their three boys in 2012. Her favorite things to do are to travel, spend time with family and friends, and stay active with her three boys. She is excited to be a part of the Franklin community and is enthusiastic about helping her patients with all of their vision needs.

Dr. Crim is passionate about adult and pediatric vision care. She wants to walk alongside you and your children as you experience the world visually, to make sure you are seeing clearly and processing visual information accurately. Dr. Crim shows personal interest in her patients and their personal needs. Dr. Crim is thoughtful, supportive, and encouraging to each patient. She prides herself in explaining information in detail and answering any questions that you may have with a personal and caring touch. As we all know it can be quite frightening for children. Dr. Crim is known for being very patient and kind to children of all ages. It is critical to detect delays in your child's visual development at a young age which is why she takes a calming and caring approach to ensure accurate results with even the youngest of patients. She is actively involved with the InfantSee program which provides eye exams at no cost up to age 1.

Daytona plus Optomap Retinal Photography which provides eyecare professionals with UWF digital images of 200 degrees or up to 82% of the retina in a single, non-contact optomap® image. This can be used to monitor retinal issues such as Diabetic Retinopathy 

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging test. OCT uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of your retina. This can be used to monitor conditions such as Macular Degeneration and Glaucoma.

Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer which helps your doctor to determine where your side vision (peripheral vision) begins and ends and how well you can see objects in your peripheral vision. This can be used to monitor changes caused by eye diseases such as Glaucoma or Ptosis (drooping eye lids).

Insertion of punctal plugs, also known as a tear duct plug or lacrimal plug. This is a small medical device that is inserted into the tear duct (puncta) of an eye to block the duct. This is used in Dry Eye Syndrome treatment.
