I became a podiatrist because I ran cross country and track in college and was interested in sports medicine. I was a US Navy podiatrist for 3 years following residency, stationed in Newport, Rhode Island, and now work with River Valley Orthopedics and the Mercy Health St. Mary's wound clinic.
I try to explain the diagnosis, anatomy, and treatment options, and let the patient decide what they want to do. I give pretty accurate details concerning the recovery period for surgical procedures, to allow the patient to make the best decision for themselves. I also refer patients to vascular surgery, neurolgy, infectious disease, and rheumatology when needed.
I have become Certified in Wound Care, in addition to Board Certification in Foot Surgery. I treat diabetic foot ulcers and venous stasis ulcers weekly.
I offer multiple procedures for foot surgery and wound care. I can perform multiple types of soft tissue flaps and grafts to assist in wound healing. I can apply casts weekly to assist in foot ulcer healing.
