Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

Dr. Barron says...

Are you struggling to cope with trauma or loss? Anxiety, depression, excessive self-criticism and diminished self-esteem? Unable to resolve conflicts in your important relationships? Frustrated about school or work? Concerned about issues of gender and sexuality? Stuck in repetitive self-defeating choices and behaviors? I am a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst with more than 30 years of experience helping adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I can work with you to develop a safe and trusting therapy relationship and tackle the problems you are facing.and offer consultation to them and their therapists on their treatment.

I approach therapy with warmth, humor, and empathy. As I learned from my own experience, the therapy journey can be difficult and demanding, but it can also be creative and exciting as you deepen your understanding, overcome obstacles, and clarify and pursue your goals.

Sometimes thoughts and feelings that are not yet fully in our awareness can contribute significantly to our problems. My training as a psychoanalyst enables me to listen deeply and help you integrate pushed-away, split-off parts of yourself. That integration makes profound and lasting change possible.
