"Crazy" has been defined as doing the same things and expecting different results. Rapid, thoughtful assessment (including testing if indicated) can lead to changes that work. In addition to therapy with my own clients, colleagues often consult me re: their work. I also functioned as a peer reviewer for other therapists for 20 years. I have a strong background in assessing for change -and knowing how and when to modify treatment to get effective, positive results. I use a cognitive-behavioral approach, with attention paid to underlying feelings. Self-talk as well as what drives the talk.
Therapy is all about: What are your fears and how are you addressing them? The more fear you have, the narrower your life and choices tend to be. Fears relate to both earlier and current experiences. Therapy can help optimize the "fit" between you and your life experiences, becoming a better version of you.
Confidentiality is a mainstay of my practice. I am a sole practitioner. I designed my office suite to provide an exit separate from my waiting room. I do not use an electronic health record. Our work will not become part of Electronic Healthcare systems. Your privacy is essential.
I am not in-network with any insurance companies other than BCBS. However, I can provide billing for all insurance companies. Many plans have out-of-network benefits. If you would like to use insurance, we can learn what portion your insurance will pay and I can have the billing done for you.
