Dr. Christy says...

Dr. Christy is one of a very small group of practitioners who teaches Fascial Counterstrain (FCS). Dr. Christy is a master of FCS and teaches internships to other practitioners in this amazing technique.

Fascial Counterstrain (FCS) is a manual therapy technique that is designed to restore function to tissues in the body that are creating patterns of pain and organ dysfunction.  When a tissue has been arrested in a chronic state of spasm by enacting a protective reflex arc, it cannot perform its physiological function any longer.  For example, if a patient has a frozen shoulder, they can no longer move the shoulder in a normal range of motion.

With FCS, we can restore function and decrease pain simply by shutting down the reflex arc that causes dysfunction in the offending tissues.

We have seen improvements in pain level, blood flow, range of motion, digestive function, and mental acuity (to name a few). FCS is not treating pathologies, but restoring function.
