Dr. Fred is a graduate of Northwestern Health Sciences University. A native of Michigan, he met his future bride at chiropractic school. After marriage in 1982, they moved to Dr. Kathleen's home state of South Dakota to open Deutsch Chiropractic in Watertown. They've been here ever since. Dr. Fred treats many types of conditions including low back pain, headache, whiplash and neck pain, and is one of just several chiropractors in South Dakota that is a board certified rehabilitation exercise specialist. In recognition for his commitment to excellence, in 2006 the South Dakota Chiropractors Association named him Chiropractor of the Year. Dr. Fred believes in giving back to the community. An advocate for children, he served as a mentor for boys without fathers through the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization, volunteered for boy scout and girl scout organizations, and served six years on the Watertown Boys and Girls Club Board. First elected to the Watertown School Board in 2004, Dr. Fred served nine years – including two terms as School Board President. In 2014, the people from northeast South Dakota sent him to Pierre as a State Representative. He introduced legislation supporting k-12 education, unborn babies, South Dakota veterans, and combating sex trafficking. You can learn about his public service work on his Wikipedia page. Currently, Dr. Fred serves as President of the South Dakota Right-to-Life organization. He is a member of the South Dakota Chiropractors Association and the American Chiropractic Association. In his spare time he enjoys reading, gardening, cross-country bicycle riding and photography.
