Care Philosophy

I am in the field for 20 years and have worked in most every setting. Now I'm in private practice for 10 years. I have a lot of passion and experience in both mental health and substance abuse treatment. What I love the most is seeing patients get healthier and happier. This is what therapy will do. My approach is direct, honest, open, caring, empathic, and not wasting people's time or money. I love what I do and have a desire to help people who want help. I also work with addicts/alcoholics who are often very resistant, toxic, and hostile because some are court ordered and frankly do not want to be in treatment. These are the folks who have wrote bad reviews. So, please I encourage to take this into account when reading bad reviews on the internet from disgruntled patients.Read more

Novi, MI |
She appeared to be very kind at first but then she was rude, unprofessional, hard to get a hold of, she did not help my child at all. Steer clear of her she is horrible and makes matters worse not better.
in Novi, MI |
Terrible therapist, she doesn't take the time to listen, she is looking at her phone all the time during the session and I really think she is all about the money. She can also be very rude is you point things out. I don't recommend her.
in Novi, MI |
I feel so disappointed with this therapist, I took my son (she treats children even when she says here and in social media that she doesn't) so she could help me with his depression and she was so rude and unprofessional with him, it broke my heart, he left her office crying. She doesn't care about anyone, she only cares about money as she still charged my credit card. Horrible person. I don't think she is a real therapist, I don't really know what to think about her.
in Romulus, MI |
I have been seeing Dr. Lewis for about 6 months now and I Love talking with her. She is very open and honest and I feel it is needed coming from someone like her to really give you the REAL truth that will help you be a better person. I always tell her things I do that others say is wrong and she will tell me why my thinking is the way it is and what I can do stop the negative cycle I am putting on myself and family. Family/co-workers have noticed a change in me. I will continue my therapy.
Sterling Heights, MI |
I found Dr. Lewis to be extremely insensitive and lacking the ability to develop an effective treatment strategy.
in Berkley, MI |
Dr Lewis helped me a ton! She figured out things about me that I didn't know about myself. She has opened my eyes to so much
Troy, MI |
Dr. Lewis is a terrible listener and makes up situations! She also like to put labels on people. She made our child feel worse about himself and he begged us not to go back because she would create what she thought the situation was and ask him if it wasn't that way. Please do not take your child to her.
It's very disappointing that people feel the need to make up things - I do not see children in my practice and have absolutely no idea whobthis poor review could possibly be from.
Troy, MI |
I have been a patient of Dr. Lewis for several years. She has been an integral part of my recovery. She is very accommodating for my schedule, and has always been careful to keep in contact with me even outside of her office and traditional business hours. I can't imagine where I would be inn my recovery without her. I have recommended several people to her as well. I would encourage anyone looking for a psychologist to contact Dr. Lewis. Her level of caring is second to none!
in Royal Oak, MI |
She has been a real blessing to me. She is very easy to talk to and has helped me through some really tough times. I would recommend her to all.
in Troy, MI |
She is very easy to talk to and very professional and knowledgeable.
in Troy, MI |
Dr Lewis is a no nonsense, strong, intelligent, and experienced therapist. I've been through several therapists prior to finding her, and feel like I've finally found someone that's able to help, guide, and motivate me to get healthy.

Dr. Lewis says...

I work very well with mood problems, addiction(s), relationships, and most mental health issues. I very much enjoy working with adolescents and young people in their 20's. Many people come in to therapy for simply life adjustments and dealing with conflicts. I do not work well with Anorexia, but I have considerable experience working with those who have eating and weight problems.

Dr. Lewis says...

I completed the highest level Michigan certification in addictions, Bachelors degree in Family Life Education, Specialist degree in Clinical Psychology, and finally Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. I am a FULLY LICENSED Psychologist in the state of Michigan. There are many providers who have Master's degrees and or a doctoral degree but are not licensed as Psychologist.

Unfortunately there are patients that are unwilling to change and or do not like the information a therapist communicates to them, which may result in their posting something negative and slanderous online. I would encourage you to please read the positive postings of patients that have actually worked in therapy. The negative reviews are simply dishonest and disturbing. It's one thing to say the therapist was not a match but to make up negative things is unfair for this platform.
