Dr. Ziegler was involved in a car accident in the late 1980's. Upon the advice of his mother, he went to her chiropractor, Dr. George Shoemaker, for treatment. Dr. Shoemaker successfully treated Dr. Ziegler's whiplash injuries, which allowed him to continue playing rugby for his local club. Dr. Ziegler eventually went on to play for Palmer College of chiropractic rugby team in the late 1980's, early 1990's. He credited Dr. Shoemaker and chiropractic for helping him

Dr,. Ziegler follows a core chiropractic philosophy, of treating the patient's problem directly. He counsels patients on exercise, nutrition, chiropractic care, and soft tissue treatments. The first examination includes a detailed explanation of different intervertebral disc scenarios that could cause the patient's pain. This detailed, standard explanation is done via the presentation of the giant spine! His explanation is done by simple, understandable language. Dr. Ziegler helps walk the patient through the motor vehicle accident recovery situation. He realizes that while he has treated many accident patients, the patient has probably never been in an accident before! Dr. Ziegler advises his patients on nutrition, weight loss, and whiplash related injuries based on his own experiences, both as a heath care practitioner, and his own personal events.
