Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

We are inspired experts who are connected by an eagerness to serve and a passion for ongoing improvement. Every day, we aim to delight out patients with superior care and to earn the continued confidence of the many medical professionals who refer to us.
Every clinical decision is made as if the patient were a member of our own family. Treatment decisions are well reasoned and all conditions will be explained fully.
About 50% of our patients are seen for primary (normal) eye care. Pediatrics, special needs pediatrics and those with binocular vision issues are 30% of our patient base. The remaining 20% are those patients who have had an acquired brain injury (ABI) or traumatic brain injury (TBI). Dr. Bowersox, as one of only two rehabilitative optometrists in Kentucky has had significant additional training in the evaluation and treatment of ABI and TBI.
Bowersox Vision Center (BVC) is 1 of only 10 private practices in the United States with an accredited residency in Pediatrics and Binocular Vision. This residency is through the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.
BVC has also served as an external rotation site for Indiana University School of Optometry since 2006. Each year 4 of the 80 soon-to-be doctors get to come to BVC for 3 months of training. Many of the younger doctors in the area have worked with Dr. Bowersox prior to their graduation. He continues to serve as mentor and advisor to many of them.
