I had spoken with 2 doctors before meeting Dr Solon, the experience was completely different, Dr Solon took the time using visual aids to explain exactly my condition and my options to fix it. Also he made me feel very comfortable not only with his level of expertise but also with post opp care for pain and recovery. Just as Dr Solon stated I had very little pain and discomfort because I followed his direction to the T. I could not be happier and will continue to recommend Dr Solon!

Conditions Treated

Dr. Solon III says..

In addition to treating the more common bone and soft tissue conditions of the feet and ankles, we are very pleased to be able to offer patients a very effective treatment for lower extremity neuropathy including diabetic and post chemotherapy neuropathy.  It has been very rewarding to work with these patients and to play a role in decreasing their symptoms and the need for prescription medications that frequently have significant side effects associated with their use.  Through these treatments we have been able to help many individuals greatly improve the quality of their lives.

We also offer laser treatment for the treatment of fungal infections of the toe and finger nails and have found this to be a very good option for our patients with good success.

We have added MLS laser therapy to our practice as a treatment option for patients.  MLS laser therapy is used to treat many conditions of the lower extremity and in some instances we have been able to use MLS laser therapy to treat conditions that would have otherwise required surgical treatment.  We are very successfully treating patients with Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles Tendinitis & other Tendinitis, Ankle & Foot Sprains/Strains, Symptomatic Scar Tissue as well as many other conditions.  MLS laser therapy works by using two synchronized wavelengths of light that transfers healing energy to damaged tissues at the cellular level.  Many of the patients that have had chronic pain for years relate that they feel significantly better after their first treatment.  There are no side effects and no discomfort during or after treatment.  If you want an alternative to medications and surgery, the MLS laser therapy is the best treatment modality that I have seen in twenty eight years of practice.

Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

Dr. Solon III's Care Philosophy

We take great pride in providing service and care for our patients that is difficult to find in other offices these days.  We are proud to be the foot and ankle specialist of choice for many of the best primary care providers in Grand Rapids and beyond.  We do not double book patients and take great pride in seeing our patients at their scheduled appointment times, it is rare that Dr. Solon will be behind schedule.

At the time of your appointment you should expect that Dr. Solon will take the time to listen to you and talk with you to get a very complete history of your foot or ankle condition.  In office diagnostic digital radiographs and ultrasound exams are done to evaluate many conditions, Dr. Solon will go over these exams with you at the time of your visit so you have a good understanding of your condition.  Dr. Solon believes that your education and understanding of problem that you have is very important and is the first step in getting your condition treated.  You should expect that you will be given several treatment options and that in most instances conservative care will be recommended as a good starting point.  In this office your questions are encouraged and you can expect that your questions will be answered by Dr. Solon in a manner that is easy to understand.  Dr. Solon believes that while he is in the treatment room with you, he is there to care for you; so you will not find him typing notes into a computer during your visit, you will have his attention for your entire visit.

We truly care about the people we see in this office and do all we can to make your experience at our office exceptional.
