Cathy Summers, FNP
I'm a native Texan. I grew up in the border town of Del Rio, graduated Spring High School, went to nursing school in Austin, and College Station, and moved to back to Houston for my Masters and Post Masters concentration. The Emergency Room is my second home. As my education has advanced, I've stayed true to my love for the ER and I have been practicing as a ER and Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner. I love helping people, and I love the camaraderie between the ER staff, the First Responders, and the support team. You never wish for a crisis, but when one happens, it's an honor to be part of a skilled team that gives their all to help another human being.

Cathy Summers' Care Philosophy

My goal is to provide the best possible care to patients in a caring, cost effective and timely manner. You can never go wrong in doing what's best for the patient. My job is not about how many patients I can squeeze into a shift or how fast I can perform a procedure. My job is about taking care of the patient - taking time to explain why a test needs to be done, or how the disease process will effect a patient, or even as simple as showing a new mom how to take baby's temperature. In the end, both the patient and I are satisfied. I love the "helping people" part of my job.
