Addiction hurts. I have spent the past twenty-five years working with those whose lives have been affected by their own or someone else's' substance abuse. There is hope. People can and do recover, restoring freedom to their lives, every day. Even so, it often feels like things will never change. My goal as your provider is to help you through the necessary losses and transitions of recovery so that you can create the life you want. A life that feels better. I am currently involved in professional training that will integrate my experience in addiction recovery with it's underpinnings in attachment and trauma. Specific to this is the use of infra-slow neurofeedback and other body-centered therapies (such as yoga) to precipitate deeper healing. Sober Yogis Groups and Community I am a co-founder of Sober Yogis. Sober Yogis is committed to providing a safe community for individuals seeking sobriety to experience themselves and their recovery in a new way. Using the healing method of Bikram Hatha yoga combined with weekly group support facilitated by licensed clinicians specializing in addiction recovery, our goal is to join together, to increase physical health and a greater sense of well being in relationship with other recovering yogis. Sober Yogis 8 Week Challenge The Sober Yogis Challenge is an 8 week challenge that incorporates an intensive yoga practice with weekly group support. Participants are challenged to take 5 yoga classes a week and attend one therapy group with their peers. Participants who complete the challenge receive one month of free unlimited yoga. Program Cost 8 Weeks Unlimited Yoga: $200.00 (Bikram Yoga Epping or Bikram Yoga Portsmouth) Weekly Group Support is billed separately (self-pay and health insurance options available). Sober Yogis Next Level Throw Down Individuals completing the initial intensive 8-week challenge participants are invited to take their progress to the next level. Weekly ongoing Sober Yogis support groups build on the powerful combination of a regular yoga practice for increased health and well being by continuing to build community with other recovering yogis.

Barbara Henricks' Care Philosophy
There are so many ways to heal and feel better about life that we don't even know them all. More methods are being discovered every day. I am here to help with whatever goal you have for coming in. If I do not feel that I can help you with your stated goal, I will help you find a provider who can. I am not a provider who is going to sit in the chair and humm and nod back at you. I believe that the purpose of therapy is to facilitate growth in self-acceptance and self-awareness. Of course there are consequences of personal growth that may be painful at first, but growing pains ultimately lead to a more purposeful and joyful life. If you are interested in an active, motivating and challenging provider, please call me.
