Each person is a unique individual with their strengths and challenges. My role is to build trust, listen, and understand your goals and areas of concern that led you to seek counseling at this time.
We work collaboratively to select strategies that best work for you. My approach is foremost to create a caring and supportive relationship with you. Many of my clients benefit from learning and practicing new skills or ways of thinking. These skills need to be ones that you are comfortable with and that research has shown are effective in addressing your unique goals and areas of concern.
Of course, I have been in therapy myself and know how it important it is to be treated with dignity, respect and compassion. I am not judgmental. I value and give lots of positive feedback and am empathetic. My client are, after all, not just a list of problems or challenges. Identifying and tapping into people's strengths and wisdom is a golden key.
My goal is to empower you to be your best self.
