Amanda Crithfield, LMHC
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist. I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) meaning I have met the highest accreditation in the country and must meet a higher standard of continuing education. In 2008 I completed my undergraduate at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. I received her Master's degree from the University of South Florida in Mental Health Counseling. Before private practice, I spent two years working as a counselor at an inpatient psychiatric unit, so that I could be exposed to many different disorders and counsel all types of individuals whether they were staying there short term or long term. . I have done extensive training and practice in the areas of grief and loss, mood disorders (depression and bipolar), anxiety, anger management, and couples counseling. I work with ages 5 and older knowing how important it is to tackle issues that arise in childhood such as extensive anger, depression, or losing somebody in their life such as a parent to death or divorce. I also really enjoy working with adults of all ages.

I have done extensive research in the area of grief and loss and have become a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist. Trauma is a very closely related area that I have done a lot of work with clients on and am currently working on my certification for.

Depression, bipolar, anxiety, and anger management are treated daily in my practice. Couples (premarital included) counseling is one of my favorites. I have been trained using the Gottman approach which focuses on communication and working through difficult issues.

I work all ages starting with 5 years old.
