NeuroActive Health employs an entirely new business model. The foundation of NeuroActive Health and Fitness will be NeuroActive Fitness. These are group or individual fitness classes that incorporate developmental neurology to better control movement and stabilization. NeuroActive Health is the clinical branch of the practice. NAH involves one on one hands on active treatment protocols, which all have neurological implications in one form or another, but are more for those with a condition or injury. NAF is for anyone, NAH is for serious athletes, those who want more individualized attention, or those who simply need more work.
When we say "whatever you do, do it better" we take that to heart, and expect the same of ourselves. We believe that it is time for physical medicine to evolve, and want to be that evolution. Dr. Bruene earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2009 from the National University of Health Sciences. There he developed a healthy craving for exploring research and developing an improved treatment strategy. Very quickly he began to realize that typical or standard chiropractic treatments or therapies were not producing long lasting improvements in many patients. He identified the shortcoming as a lack of neurological change in patients. Constantly stretching the same muscles without change to the posture, always needing to manipulate the same joints each visit, etc just wasn't getting the job done. Studying the research, he was able to develop a more comprehensive strategy that included the neurology. He began to see the need for stretching or manipulation decrease significantly. Now, treating patients fewer times and focusing on active strategies that the patients could perform themselves was producing long-lasting or even permanent solutions. Then, the light bulb went off. "I'm essentially sitting around waiting for people to hurt themselves, so that I can teach them now to not hurt themselves." It was completely backwards. What would be better, to prevent cancer, or wait for it to manifest and then treat it? So NeuroActive Fitness was born. A neurological pre-habilitation strategy that fits seamlessly with whatever it is you're already doing, and can help prevent injury while also improving athletic performance. What's not to love?
