After my first visit in Feb 2018 with Dr. Gaffar I felt his compassion always tentative to my concerns and investigate other options to alleviate your symptoms of discomfort. He is patient and goes with me through my ups and downs, especially these past few months. He was not only my doctor he was also my husband Ron’s doctor. Ron went with me to all my appointments and in October 2020 he was diagnosed with NSCLC and he said to me I want your doctor. Dr. Gaffar took charge right away and started treatment but with the COVID -19 rules he had setbacks and while Dr. Gaffar and his team were aware of our medical blocks they help us make better choices unfortunately this took a toll on Ron and he lost his battle to Cancer on 3/30/21. I continued to see Dr. Gaffar and his team for my treatments and this is what most people don’t get to see, is how they feel after the loss of their patient we sometimes forget that we are all in this fight together and it does affect the whole Team.

I find it very easy to talk with Dr. Gaffar. He listens carefully to what I share with him. I never feel rushed. Instead, I feel that he really cares about my life - not just how to deal with the disease - but how I live my life. I am not sure he always receives the messages in the patient portal - as there were times I did not get a response from a question I had asked.

I've been under Dr. Gaffar's care for CLL/SLL and most recently non-small cell lung cancer, stage IIIA since the summer of 2019. All encounters with him have been professional and compassionate. I always feel like he's got my back and explains all the associated medical details in a way that is understandable. He has consistently addressed my questions and concerns to my satisfaction. I can rest assured believing that I am getting his full attention and the best care possible under the circumstances. I wish I didn't have cancer, but since I do, I'm fortunate to have Dr. Gaffar in my corner.

Dr Gaffar is very knowledgeable and he answered all of my questions. He showed empathy towards me at a time of loss. He was also kind when I was making a decision about the direction of my treatment. My only concern is the length of time to wait but I suppose that’s because he gives everyone time instead of rushing them.

If I could give 0 or negetive -1 star 9 would. During my visit Dr Gaffar seemed to listen to my medical history. He did leave the room for a while for what I believe was a personal call. When I called to discuss my test results, he refuses to come to the phone or call back even after leaving messages with his nurses. If you want good communication with your dr he is not the one
