She is a pediatric rheumatologist within the Division of Rheumatology at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. Dr. Sterba earned her medical degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela Escuela de Medicina José María Vargas in Caracas. She then completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital, followed by a fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Children's Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx, New York. Her clinical interests include childhood-onset lupus, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, juvenile dermatomyositis and transition of care. Dr. Sterba is board certified in both general pediatrics and pediatric rheumatology. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Rheumatology and Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA). Dr. Sterba's work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and she has presented at conferences both nationally and globally. She is involved in ongoing research related to the evaluation of ovarian reserve and function in adolescent females with systemic lupus erythematosus, as well as an observational study of pediatric rheumatic disease through the CARRA Registry. Dr. Sterba sees patients at the Nicklaus Children's Hospital main campus, Nicklaus Children's Aventura Care Center, Nicklaus Children's Boynton Beach Care Center and Nicklaus Children's Miramar Outpatient Center. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
