Being healthy is a lifelong commitment to healthy practices. It needs a collaborative effort between individuals and their physicians. I beleive that good health comes from this partnership, which can only happen in an environment of mutual trust, respect and understanding. I emphasize that we are a team, and encourage questions, involve family members and explain rationale for my recommendations. I do not believe that more tests or medications are the solution to all our problems, but using a common sense approach that is understandable is the key. Scientific data is always evolving and putting that in context of a particular patient and his/her problem is the art of medicine and I try to keep working at it.
I believe that a person's health is their most valuable asset and determines not just their longevity but their happiness. I strive to educate and coach each person to live a healthier and better life ; take preventative measures and change harmful lifestyle practices .I also take care of the very sick patients with acute heart attacks , congestive heart failure and life threatening heart rhythm problems. I have been in practice for 13 years, have worked in diverse clinical settings including a Veterans hospital and was awarded the 'Hands on heart Award' by the secretary for service towards the Veterans.
