After having gone through new patient intake and evaluation with Dr. Hong and his staff, I was impressed. The thoroughness and seriousness with which they perform their duties confirms that the decision to seek treatment from them was a good one. I have come to the conclusion that the negative reviews must be pill shopping.

Very upfront and prompt with you. He may seem rude to others but he cares about keeping the pain under control ot gone so you can live a productive life. He takes alot of time listening to whats going on and wants to help thats why appts are long. Best pain doc ive been to.

Ive been a patient for many, many years. Yes, Dr Hong can seem a bit uptight sometimes but if you think about it, he has a lot to deal with in his line of work.. Maybe some patients don't adhere to the doctors instructions concerning their medication.. I always bring my meds to each appointment , but that's the way it should be. That way the doctor can tell if a patient is abusing their medication. . Dr Hong does not tolerate that . He always asks if i have any questions or concerns at the end of my appointment.. If he runs late, i don't complain because i understand that some patients need a little extra time. And lastly, I have a quality of life because of his treatment and i wouldn't be able to do the things i wanted everyday if it weren't for him. Thank you Dr Hong for the wonderful care you've given me over the years.

I’ve read all these comments and disagree with most of them. I’ve been a Pt with Dr Hong nearly 20 years. He’s the only one that found my pain and gave me the correct treatment. He’s not once screamed at me and threatened a discharge. He never left me in a treatment room for 3 hours or more, the only time you’re there for that amount of time is as a new PT. He just cannot prescribe you medications without first doing a complete history and reviewing your records. He explains all your treatments and findings to you while others do not. He treats his patients like family and is a very caring individual. He doesn’t treat patients as a dollar sign or a number like other offices do. He’s the only doctor left in the Johnstown area that is honest and legit. The other doctors in our area went to jail. Some of them include Dr. Cash, Dr. Johnson, Dr. Davis, Dr. Pueblitz and Dr. Ridella.

Great doctor and very caring. Ignore negative reviews. They are solely due to disgruntled patients who did not get the script they wanted or abused the script they had and took advantage of the doctors kind and caring nature.

Horrible, you never know which side of him you are going to see when you go for an appt. He threatens to discharge for anything , this make you anxious every time you see him. Very rude to patients and staff. Makes Patient wait for at Least 3 hours to see him , then says you are wasting his time!!!! Then when he does discharge he has no concern for your well being knowing that you are addicted to the OPIATES he prescribed for you. He is a Dr. knowing how unsafe it is to quit them cold turkey

I would not take a dying dog to see this egotistical unprofessional, degrading quack! He doesn't let you talk, yes or no answers only! Will not let you describe your symptoms, makes you point with 1 finger where it hurts, gives unnecessary injections that cause extreme pain for weeks! Doesn't care if you run out of meds, if you can't make an appt, no matter what the reason, he gets on the phone, calls you a liar and to call "next week" Very rude to his employees also, they are afraid of him!

Very rude to patients and staff! Hong DOES NOT CARE should be the name of his practice! He cares only about himself and his bottom line, and unnecessary injections that he forces on you! I drove 60 miles 1 way to see him, always early for appts, pill counts were always right or over! Was told many times to leave and come back in an hour or more! He micromanages his staff, answering the phone himself, instead of his wife/secretary or 1 remaining nurse! Expect 3-5 hr visit! Contact below 4 info!

I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this man. He is rude, does not listen, will not let you ask questions and constantly changed my medication to things I couldn't tolerate or afford and he still insisted that I take them. He will put his hand in your face if he doesn't want to hear what you have to say. He treats his staff like children. There were times I was there for over 4 hours but he would tell me and his staff that we are wasting his time.

Dr.hong doesn't want to hear what the patient has to say. He refuses to listen if you call to ask a question because you can't come to his office that day. He yells at his patients and staff, and He makes patients do work his secretaries should be doing. His patients always seem very nervous and afraid because he snaps out of nowhere.

Very RUDE!Screamed at & fired office worker 1st visit.Told a patient"leave Come bk in 40 min".Leaves you sitting alone in the office reading info that he should be discussing with you while he runs between other offices for hrs. Demds only Yes or No answers. Say more, he tells you"Stop talking,Yes No only".Stated he wanted all my doctors to call him.Offered to leave all contact information with reception. He stated"No,you need to tell them call me".In 5 visits got treated 1x. Chged for all 5.

I never been to this doctor but my neighbor has been going to him for years. The last time she went to see him that woman could barely walk she was so drugged up she walked into his office instead of him getting her some help he just gives her prescriptions .Just keeps writing her prescription for medication she does not need this this is why we have a drug problem in this country becauseof so-called doctors like him.

Heather M Geiser in Johnstown – Apr 17, 2017
Dr. Hong will request personal favors from patients, such as: fixing his printer, baking him something, etc. He also has poor bedside manner, as he will tell patients, "Don't Talk." whenever he chooses. Dr. Hong appears more interested in keeping his records "perfect" than actual patient care. The waiting time to see him can take up to 3 hours. He is very mean to his staff and will yell at them in front of patients. He has also discusses confidential information in the waiting room.
