This content was provided by Dr. Capel "Dr. Capel graduated from the University of Utah, cum laude, with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Dr. Capel attended medical school at the Chicago Medical School, graduating in 1991. Dr. Capel completed his residency in Neurosurgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1997. Following residency, Dr. Capel completed a one year spine fellowship in Orthopedic Spine Surgery at the University of Maryland in Baltimore in 1998. Dr. Capel has practiced in Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Utah. Dr. Capel is a member of the North American Spine Society, Congress of Neurologic Surgeons, American Association of Neurologic Surgeons, and Mississippi State Medical Association. Dr. Capel is Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. Dr. Capel is one of two fellowship-trained spinal neurosurgeons from the state of Mississippi. Dr. Capel also has a MBA from George Washington University. Dr. Capel stays current in all the latest developments and technologies in spine surgery. He spends considerable time at meetings throughout the country, learning and teaching other surgeons spinal surgery techniques. Dr. Capel is more than happy to discuss his training, qualifications, and experience with any operation or any disease and aspires for an open therapeutic relationship with all of his patients. Dr. Capel desires to be approachable and compassionate and realizes the importance of the responsibility and burdens borne by one called upon to operate on patients with complex diseases requiring delicate surgical interventions."
