William Wood, MD After completing his undergraduate and medical school education at the University of Kentucky College Of Medicine and his residency at the prestigious Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Wood was awarded the Heed Fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (Harvard University). He strongly considered returning to the Wilmer Institute as faculty, but chose instead to return to his home in Lexington. As a part-time faculty member of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Kentucky, he was promoted to Clinical Professor and developed the Retina subspecialty division at the university. Dr. Wood is proud to serve on the Board of Governors of his alma mater, the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He is recognized in the "Best Doctors in America" and "American's Top Ophthalmologists".
