Multi-level cervical disc replacement
Dr. Reed replaced the discs between my C5-C6 and C6-C7. He and the surgical team were absolutely great! The day after my surgery, I had less numbness in my right hand and feet. Reduced grating in my neck and reduced pain. This was my fourteenth surgery; Dr. Reed, the P.A.s and nurses at MISH were superb! I trusted Dr. from the moment I met him.

L3-4 disc replaced
I looked for several years to find a surgeon to replaced my L3-4 disc. I had prior disc replacement so most would not return my calls as they didn't what the risk that prior anterior approach surgery posed. Dr Reed returned my call and we had a thoughtful rational discussion. He did the procedure last April and I am doing great. Out of chronic discogenic pain. I liked his dry sense of humor, and his ability to explain the risks and procedure aspects in a way that comforted my wife. I have no reservations on recommending Dr Reed and his team.

Excellent experience
I went to Dr. Reed on a referral. I was at my wits end with injections and pills. Dr. Reed suggested disk replacement surgery for my condition. I was very nervous but he immediately put my fears to rest. This has been the easiest process/surgery I've had. My results are incredible. Recovery has been a breeze. I have nearly full mobility and am nearly pain free compared to what I was prior. I would and will recommend Dr Reed and his wonderful staff to anyone and everyone I know who needs pain relief.

The major complaint I have would be the office wait time. I wish I knew I needed x-rays before my visit. Other than that I saw three other surgeons who recommended a fusion. I did not want this. None of the surgeons even offered or mentioned disc replacement as a potential option. Come to find out these doctors don’t even know how to perform the surgery so why would they even offer it. Dr. Reed did a lumbar disc replacement on me six months ago I’ve been able to be a mother again I’ve been able to work out again. I do have some pain still but nothing like it was before surgery. See a Doctor Who will be upfront and honest and direct if you want your hand held he’s not for you results are what matter

I have had back issues ever since I injured myself in the military. Last December my lower right back had SEVERE pain. The VA and local ER hospital both said it was my sciatica and it would get better. After 6 months of excruciating pain I was referred to Dr. Reed. After removing my RUPTURED disc, I felt so much better!! I was back to work within two weeks. Dr. Reed, Nurse Ashton and his team are wonderful! I do not regret having the surgery. Thanks Again!!

After recieving two opinions of spinal fusion, I sought an opinion from Dr Reed on my low back issues knowing he was a disc replacement specialist - a much better option than fusion. He quickly ruled out lumbar disc replacement and offered a minimally invasive solution he felt would solve my pain and sciatic issues. He phoned me personally twice as we moved toward scheduling surgery. Short procedure (1.5 hrs) and very reasonable cost, he opened a window in my lamina, repaired my ruptured disc, cleaned out the nerve pathways (stenosis) and removed some arthritis. 7 weeks later I am pain-free, with no restrictions, ready to strengthen my core and return to normal activity. Very thankful for finding Dr Reed. Read his bio - his military service in particular was very indicative of his approach.

I was referred to Dr Reed for my cervical spine. I endured over 4 years of horrible pain and tried everything - injections, ablasion, massage, etc. 8 weeks ago, Dr Reed replaced 2 disc's in my neck and I have never felt better. His team is top notch! The procedure, before and after care goes above and beyond any I have experienced!

Dr. Reed and Ashton are amazing. I have been athletic my whole life, competing collegiately and nationally in swimming, cycling, and triathlons. However after years of flying in the Army I ended up with degenerative discs in my neck and lower back after over a year in Iraq....my days competing were over. In 2018 I ruptured my L5, I couldn’t even pick up my two year old daughter a little over a year later. After two surgeries and a L5 replacement, not only can I pick and play with my now three year old. I can pick up my wife and carry her around. I am able to do things I haven’t done in decades. They have me my life back. I will forever be greatly.

I had back surgery on Nov. 30, 2020, and before surgery Dr. Reed was upfront with me about what I could and could not expect. I have been very pleased with the outcome! I no longer have tingling and burning in my feet, lower back and hip. I also have not experienced leg cramps, since my surgery, that woke me up most nights having to stand to try to get them to release! I wish I had found Dr. Reed sooner, and would highly recommend him to anyone needing back surgery.

Outstanding Team! I rarely write reviews for services or goods received, but in this case, I felt it is necessary. I know there are a lot of options out there for surgeons and healthcare, and if the individual reading this is deciding between surgeons. I can honestly say that the one-on-one care I have experienced from Dr. Reed and Nurse Practitioner Ashton has been second to none! Dr. Reed has been the most insightful and attentive surgeon I have ever encountered, and Ashton has been nothing short of an angel. She has guided me through each procedure and all my recoveries. Ashton has always been there for any question or concern that my wife or I have had and has been so kind and patient with us. Dr. Reed and Ashton work seamlessly to ensure that all my expectations as a patient and a person were met and exceeded. If you are seeking professionalism and the best of care, look no further than Dr. William O. Reed and Ashton Bergh, FNP-BC.

I had seen too many doctors to keep track of for my back pain. Dr. Reed took the time to diagnose my condition and come up with a plan. The thing Dr. Reed did that no one else did was give me all the different options available to me, including total disc replacement. Other doctors and surgeons only presented limited options.

On March 4, 2020 I had surgery at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. Dr. Reed and his very capable assistant Ashton, placed a rod in my back to stabilize my T3 & T4 vertebrates which had suffered a compression fracture on January 17, 2020 after a fall at home on the ice. Dr. Reed was the only person to correctly diagnose my injury. Due to incompetence of St. Luke's Medical Center I had been in horrible agony since the injury date above. After the surgery my pain levels instantly dropped. It is now March 28, 2020, although I have to wear a body brace, for the time being, I'm able to stand, walk and move around on my own accord with little problem. Dr. Reed and Ashton have continued to be exceptionally attentive to my follow-up care. I want to thank them both for their excellent care. Dianna Bennett
