He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delaware in 1977 and graduated from George Washington University with a degree in Medicine in 1981. He completed a surgical internship at Tripler Army Medical Center followed by a residency in Ophthalmology at Brooke Army Medical Center in 1986. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Prestowitz is on staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital and Smyth County Community Hospital. He sees patients in our Abingdon office, specializing in Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Cataract Surgery."
