I saw Dr. Portnoy originally for a small hole in my eardrum, which he patched in-office as an outpatient procedure. The fix worked briefly but I found myself having pain, persistent infections and ringing / pressure in the same ear not long after. I saw him again, and he reassured me that there was no hole in the eardrum nor any other major problems. After seeing another ENT physician, I learned I had a tiny hole in the eardrum which required full surgery to correct. I'd never recommend Portnoy.

Dr. Portnoy and staff were amazing. I was second guessing moving forward with my surgery, but glad I decided to have it done. It has completely changed my life and I couldn't thank Dr. P enough. Great doctor and team

Dr. Portnoy is the best. I went to him for a second opinion after seeing another doctor who recommended 4 different procedures to deal with my sleep apnea. Dr. Portnoy was no-nonsense and recommended a conservative approach of going ahead with the septum surgery but holding off on anything else until we saw how that affected things. Surgery went without a hitch, recovery was painless and Dr. Portnoy was at all times professional, accessible and reassuring. The one surgery cured the apnea.

I went to Dr. Portnoy with a nasty infection in my right ear that was incredibly painful and kept me from sleeping for two nights in a row. Dr. Portnoy examined my ear, sized up the situation, performed the necessary procedure and set me up with the needed prescriptions in a New York minute. A day later I feel normal again and was finally able to get a good night's sleep. Dr. Portnoy is a no-nonsense doc. If you are a busy proessional like me who values results over chit-chat, he's your guy.

Excellent doctor, knowledgeable, professional, took his time to listen and explained everything. Surgery went well, no complication, office staff (Bianca) was very responsive and helpful. Overall - great experience!

He didn't have compassion to answer all my fears and questions.
