Dr. McMaster is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his surgical internship at the University of Chicago where he also trained in General Surgery. Dr. McMaster completed a USPHS Fellowship in Surgery Research at the University of Chicago. He then completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, Irvine. He has served as Chief of Orthopaedics at Irvine and remains on the faculty as Clinical Professor of Orthopaedics as well as Chief of Orthopaedics at the Long Beach Veterans Affairs Hospital teaching residents and students in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. McMaster is Board Certified with the America Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and 2010 President of the Western Orthopaedic Association. His practice interests include general adult orthopaedics, shoulder problems, sports medicine and total joint replacement. He is a member of the Active Staff of CHOC and St Joseph Hospitals. Dr. McMaster is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.
