As a senior ped. neurosurgeon and a father, it greatly disturbs me that these parents were not satisfied with my diagnosis. I teach both plastic surgery and neurosurgery residents as well as pediatricians the principals of diagnosis and treatment for deformational and acquired craniofacial problems. It is hard to imagine that I missed this diagnosis. I always recommend and caution parents to get second opinions from physicians, especially before surgery or the purchase of a 3000 dollar helmet.
