I'm an orthopedic surgeon with a primary interest in sports medicine. I treat patients with a variety of knee and muscle injuries both athletes and weekend warriors. When I meet with a patient I try to get to know them in order to figure out the best treatment for getting them back to the lifestyle they love. I am careful about relying on a previous diagnosis so I like to investigate everything myself. I work with the patient to try to come up with the best and least risky option which is not always surgery. One of the nice things about working at Duke is the ability for clinicians to collaborate with researchers that have similar interests to try to solve challenges.
