I was just talking to my husband about Dr. Cody and decided to search and see if Dr. Cody was still in Jacksonville. I was a patient of Dr. Cody’s in the early 90s while living in the Jacksonville area. I worked in the mental health field and had taken one of my client’s to see Dr. Cody. She had to be referred to Shands. However, I was in the cafeteria at Saint Vincent’s some time later and not only did he remember me, but he remembered to ask about my client and her well being. I was so impressed I made Dr. Cody my doctor as well. I am so thankful for the care he and his office staff gave me during my time In the area. Dr. Cody never seemed to be in a hurry and always listened to my concerns.

I started seeing him when I was 19 and was subsequently diagnosed with PCOS. He tried to help me by giving me various hormonal birth control methods, which I agreed to, but most did not work and/or gave me horrible side effects. He did performed a very necessary surgery for me a few years ago that fixed a HUGE cyst that other doctors failed to notice on my ovary, but would not consider another procedure that would enhance my quality of life after I have been suffering for YEARS with PMDD. Also, he needs to document conversations better. He called me one evening at 9pm to tell me that he didn't like how high my BP was and was starting me on BP medicine. When I told him at our next visit that the medicine made me feel like crap, he had no recollection that he started me on it. I decided to leave his practice. I felt like I was treated subpar and really wanted a second opinion. I always thought it was weird that he asked if my mom was OK with my decision when I'm in my 30s!

Fibroid tumors were an unknown subject to me before I got pregnant with my daughter, Kyra. My pregnancy was 4 months along when the fibroids began to grow at an alarming rate(hormone surge) and my fundal height didn't align with gestational age. Dr. Cody recommended I have a cerclage to stop my cervix from opening prematurely. This procedure, while it slowed the inevitable, did not prevent me from having premature labor. Our daughter was born at 23 weeks premature and she lived 35 minutes. Hubbi

Dr. Cody does a great job with the physical exam. No one likes to have one done, but he makes sure that you are as comfortable as possible and listens to you when you have a problem. The only thing I am not thrilled with is that he likes to prescribe artificial hormones for endocrine problems without doing a full workup. I had to go to my primary care doctor for tests.
