This content was provided by Dr. Boyce "I encourage my patients to explore all non-surgical options before deciding on any elective surgery. Alternatives I recommend could include medication, exercise, physical therapy and weight management. If surgery is necessary, I talk with them in detail about the procedure and what they can expect in terms of the recovery and outcome and the associated risk with any surgery. I also believe it's important to personally see my patients at each visit, so I don't utilize mid-level providers in my practice, like Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants. "
