He earned his medical degree at State University of New York Buffalo School of Medicine. He is board-certified in internal medicine, geriatric medicine and pulmonary disease. Dr. Ackerman is the recipient of numerous awards, including an Alumni Association Award from State University of New York School of Medicine and the Maimonides Medical Society Award. He has repeatedly been recognized as a top doctor in San Diego Magazine’s “Physicians of Exceptional Excellence" annual survey performed in collaboration with the San Diego County Medical Society.Outside of work, Dr. Ackerman enjoys hiking in the nearby desert areas with his wife. Dr. Ackerman is a pleasure. He takes his time with you and he listens to you. I never feel rushed. He always takes into consideration I do not like to take drugs if at all possible. He lays out the my options so I know my choices.
