Willard Barnes Jr., MD, is the division chief of Gynecologic Oncology at the Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center. As a member of the hospital's gynecologic oncology team for 30 years, Dr. Barnes is committed to personalized care for women dealing with complex problems. He and his team coordinate all aspects of care for women with gynecologic cancers, including primary, inpatient and outpatient care, and surgery. He believes MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy of caring for the whole patient is the only way to practice medicine. Dr. Barnes has received extensive recognition as a top doctor. He has been included in 13 consecutive Castle and Connelly's listings as one of America's Top Doctor's and nine consecutive listings as a Top Doctor for Cancer. As a Georgetown University professor, Dr. Barnes is also committed to teaching the next generation of physicians. He is a member of the Georgetown University Medical Center MAGIS Society of Master Teachers, a society that honors physicians and biomedical scientists dedicated to the care of others and the health needs of society. In addition, Dr. Barnes is actively involved in research, publishing more than 100 papers and abstracts.
