Too bad I can't give ZERO stars! I wish that I was able to review Dr. Barish, but I never got the chance to meet him. I arrived and signed in at 10:30am for my 10:40 appointment. After 15 minutes of no attention, I went up to the desk to request "New Patient" paperwork. When I handed it to them around 10:50am, I was told that the average time in the office was 1.5-2 hours. I was called to the desk at around 12:00pm, at which time someone had FINALLY read my paperwork and realized that I was not only there for an eye exam, but a contact lens fitting. I was told that they only have an optometrist in office to do the lens fitting once a week. Since I had told the appointment taker what my needs were, AND I had written it down on my paperwork, I would have expected someone in the front office to notice this before I spent so much time in the waiting room. Completely disorganized and mismanaged. I will never attempt to enter that office again. Wasted my entire morning.

Other than an occasional long wait, Dr. Barish takes the time to listen, explain and interact. He is exhibits compassion, humor and thoroughly reviews his notes from past exams. He knows my condition and includes me in all treatment options. He has a great bedside manner and is the only doctor I have been too who asked me if he could do something about a small cyst on my eye lid. He wanted to remove it and I agreed. Other doctors that I spoke to told me it was no issue and did not want to treat it. Dr Barish without prompting from me offered to treat it and knew that is was annoying to me without me having to complain about it.

Had an appointment with the doctor canceled and rescheduled twice now it's canceled again. Unable to get an appointment with doctor due to broken equipment. I have a problem need to be seen but the staff keeps putting me on hold and making me leave messages. 48 hours since I left a message for the office manager. Called today had to leave another message. it looks like they really "care" ?!?? Judge for your self!!....

unable to get eye looked at. they shut down for this virus. so i felt abandoned & neglected . they werent even seeing me as a emergency. i had a eye infection and lost my sight at one point. my primary doctoer was able to set me up with another practice. so you can come to your own judgement on their service as M.Ds.

this review is about the failure to help there patients during this virus. they just shut their doors. even failed to see emergency patients. I had an eye infection & lost vision in one eye. I repeatedly tried to get to see someone.1 tech to me to go to Miami eye hospital with only one eye & 1+hr drive. so after so much time lost I got my primary to get me int0o another group and was treated. so-called professionals who lost their heads and ran away like chickens.

Terrible. They gave me the wrong prescription. When I complained they said it was my fault! They routinely keep patients waiting 2 hours or more before you see anyone. The staff is rude and waiting room jammed with angry patients. He told me to return every 3 months for an alleged problem which two other ophthalmologists said did not exist. The next doctor I consulted said my eyes were fine and only annual checkups. Did I mention expensive treatments that were not covered by insurance? Find another doctor.

Dr Barish helped diagnose and treat a severe issue with my eyes. Insurance created some problems and delays but staff navigated through it.

Dr. Barish is one of the most compassionate doctors on the planet! He always does a thorough job examining my eyes and explaining problems. He also takes care of my mom and was super supportive when she needed surgery. I was impressed that Dr. Barish called her personally to make sure she was okay, despite the fact that he was not the surgeon who ended up doing her procedure. I highly recommend him.

Nice Dr., rude/ incompetent staff, insane wait time, Dr. pushed very expensive treatments ( roughly $1,000.) that are not covered by insurance. I do not recommend this eye clinic and kindly ask those who are reading this to reconsider and go elsewhere, unless you like to be taken advantage of and treated poorly. Further, the Delray office phone number almost never works nor can you leave a voicemail. The office is aware of this problem yet the Dr. seems to value saving money over a working phone

I think Dr. Barish truly cares about his patients. However, I recently switched to a different doctor for 2 reasons. First, the wait times are completely ridiculous. My last 3 appointments took over 3 hours with the majority of that time being spent in one of the many waiting areas. Second, I am being scheduled for numerous tests and being prescribed treatments that are expensive and not covered by insurance. I'm pretty sure these appts. are being used to pay for a lot of fancy equipment.

Doctor appears competent, but revisit time of 3 mo for condition which is not yet evident and which he stated progresses slowly seems too frequent. My previous doctor up north checked annually. Wait time in office ranged from 70 min to 125 min. Excessive and not unusual based on discussions with other patients in lobby. Probably too many patients booked. Requirement to pay up front vs. all other doctors who bill is not customary; insulting to a good payer as I am.
