Dr. Vicki Van was born and raised in Tidewater, Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Virginia Tech, graduating with honors. Following her undergraduate training, she attended Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia, where she received her doctor of medicine degree. After completing medical school, Dr. Van served her internship and residency at the obstetrics and gynecology department of Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Virginia. During her residency, she met her future husband and practice associate, Dr. David Van. In 1987, they moved to Griffin, Georgia, and founded Emory McIntosh Trail Family Practice. Dr. Van has trained with the renowned Beverly Hills, California, dermatologist Dr. Obagi, who developed the medically proven skin repair and rejuvenation system that is the basis for the world-famous Obagi Nuderm System and Obagi Blue Peel. She is certified to administer Botox for skin restoration, as well as being certified to treat patients using intense pulsed laser (IPL), radio frequency, and microdermabrasion, techniques useful in restoring healthy skin by improving or eliminating the effects of common skin disorders that result from environmental damage, exposure to sunlight, and the natural aging process. In 2001, Emory McIntosh Trail Family Practice developed a skin care division, La Maison Derm Esthetics, which is dedicated to the development of healthy, beautiful skin.
