I was admitted into the ER with severe colon issues in 2013..Luckily for me, Dr.Atanassov was the dr. who saw me.Once he got me stable and stronger he then performed surgery on me a couple months later. When I was initially admitted I was told by hospital staff what a wonderful surgeon/doctor he was, and they weren't kidding.I was fortunate and would only see him if I ever needed any type of surgery that he performs.Id have my own child see him, and feel only confident having her in his care.

I saw Dr. Val back in 2011 for the removal of cancer in my thyroid area. The first time I met him he looked right at my neck and marked where he would make the incision. I had to have an additional surgery 6 weeks later, as they could not keep the other half of my thyroid. I was not nervous, Dr. Val is awesome. To this day everyone remarks about the scar they can barely see on my neck! Thanks to a great doctor, I am still here today.

I was very nervous going into see Dr Atanassov knowing I would need surgery. Once I met Dr Val and his team, he calmed my nerves right away. He is very cool and confident. His entire team is very nice and caring. I am now a week post op, had my post op visit and just feel so glad that he was my surgeon. I cannot recommend him enough!

You know how when you tell someone you need surgery and they tell you "Go see my guy...he is the best" or "I got a guy" Well, Dr. Val is the guy. He is a the rock star of general surgeons. I can't imagine a scenario in which someone would give this guy any less than 5 stars, +A, the best, believe me. Jim Small PS-I never write reviews but after my surgery today, this is "my guy" and should be everyone else's.

Dr. Val., as the nurses call him, is an amazing surgeon and person. I know he saved my life. I would recommend him to everyone in need of surgery. His caring and bed side manner is the best I have ever experienced. I am truly grateful to this wonderful man, as is my family. Patricia McKinnon, Middleboro, Mass.

Dr Atanassov was so attentive to me in the Hospital, checked up on me several times each day that I was in hospital and called me several time during the first few days that I came home,he wanted to make sure I was comfortable and that I understood my restrictions as far as diet and limitations. He is a true professional and his staff is great, would recommend him to anyone in need of surgery. The Best !
