What People Say About Dr. Umair Afzal, MD
RecentHighestLowestMost Helpful
I recently had a six day hospital stay and am very grateful for Dr. Afzal. He is very knowledge and I truly trust him and wish he could be my Primary Neurologist. Dr. Afzal expressed himself very well, delt with all my questions and made sure I understood everything we discussed. He was very thorough and kind. I wouldn't have wanted anyone else helping me figure out my diagnosis! I am so thankful for his help! ( He does not have a practice, only within the hospital- as a hospitalist)

Did not listen to family about changes to his patient's mental changes and kept blaming confusion and diminished capacity on meds and ICU psychosis. After being in the hospital for 5 days, his patient finally had the brain MRI that was order the first day he was admitted to the ER. It showed his patient had several TIAs with the last one being significant enough to cause the cognitive problems and general weakness. Early treatment is very important when dealing with strokes.
