      Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

      Dr. Wien's Care Philosophy

I am blessed by God to be called into medicine and I knew at age 11 that I wanted to a doctor. Family medicine is a good match for my personality. I enjoy knowing my patients and their families. My patients are partners in their health. I try to be a good listener and diagnostician and educate my patients as to what I think they have and what their choices are. I'm happy to pray with patients, but of course only if they desire that. I enjoy doing minor surgeries too. (And I like to crack jokes).

      Dr. Wien says...

I graduated from med school in 1984 and I feel that experience counts for a lot in medicine. I've treated many thousands of patients through the years and seen a large variety of issues, conditions and diseases. Though I'm not a psychiatrist, I have treated hundreds of people for anxiety and depression. I enjoy doing minor skin surgeries. I enjoy treating families and the advantage a doctor has when he understands a patient's family dynamics. I know how to inject painful or arthritic joints. I am not a travel agent who just refers patients to this or that specialist. I'm open with patients about what I can treat and what I cannot.

      Dr. Wien says...

I excise lipomas and cysts of the skin.

I biopsy skin lesions that might be cancer and remove moles or lesions that patients want removed. I treat warts too.

I inject shoulders, knees, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow and trochanteric bursitis of the hips. I also drain ganglion cysts (but don't excise/remove these.) I can inject arthritic joints of the thumb and trigger fingers too.

I perform BioTE bio-identical testosterone pellet implantations.
