After decades of intense pain, Dr. Jackman performed surgery on my neck for severe degenerative disk disease. He did laminoplasty on 3 vertebrae and laminectomy on one vertebra. The improvement in my pain level has been remarkable. He is great to work with, explaining the options and procedures clearly. Prior to meeting with Dr. Jackman, two prominent surgeons told me that there was nothing that could be done to help me. Fortunately, Dr. Jackman had a plan that provided me with great relief!

Dr. Jackman is the best and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing good care, accurate surgery with a great outcome. Three months ago, Dr. Jackman performed surgery on L4-5, decompression and insertion of a spinal device called a coflex. He is an excellent surgeon, very easy to speak with, makes sure that you understand, and will take great care of you!! He's the best.

Dr. Jackman took the time to help my family and I understand what my MRI was showing and that I should get a small outpatient surgery to fix a herniated disc. He did a terrific job! I'm a 25 year old guy who was feeling like I was way too young to be having to deal with back pain. He was easy to talk to and answered every single question we had pre/post operation. I definitely reccomend Dr. Jackman!

Dr. Jackman says...

I grew up in Portland, attended University of Washington for college, then proceeded on to medical school at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland.

I graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors from medical school.

I then moved to Minneapolis for orthopedic surgery residency.  I also met and married my wonderful wife!

I went on to New York City and the Hospital for Special Surgery and intensive training in the spine surgery fellowship.  I was fortunate to have ourstanding mentors.

I joined Proliance Orthopedics in 2008; a great practice with outstanding partners who I also consider friends.

I live in Issaquah with my wife and three children, continually trying to balance work and life to be outstanding both at work and as a husband / father.

Orthopaedic Surgery and Fracture Care Spinal Surgery Dr. Jackman is a Board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialty focus in spinal surgery. Dr. Jackman says...

I treat all conditions related to the spine including disc herniations, degenerative disc disease, scoliosis or deformity, and spinal stenosis.

After listening to your history, reviewing imaging studies, and performing a careful exam, we'll work together to develop the right approach for you.

I'll ensure you've tried the right non-operative approaches prior to even thinking about surgery.

When surgery is appropriate, I believe in attempting the smallest surgery possible to address your pain.

My goal is to avoid fusions.  Rather, I encourage cervical disc replacement rather than fusion in the neck or use of the coflex procedure rather than fusion in the spine.  Many times, a small procedure to remove a small disc fragment or relieve a bone spur pressing on the nerve is sufficient.

When medically appropriate, procedures are performed in the outpatient surgery center environment.

I consider my patients to be like family and appreciate the chance to help you do what you want in life :)

Dr. Jackman says...

I do my best.

I am well trained and continue to adopt new methods and techniques, as appropriate, to treat my patients.

Surgical outcomes are the best when the right surgery is performed for the right patient at the right time.  My goal is to optimize these three factors in the safest way possible.

Above all, it is important to me that you do well.  I will do everything I can to make that happen, with either non-operative or surgical options.
