He is a graduate of the University of New England, College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his pediatrics residency at the University of Connecticut followed by a fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology at Oregon Health & Science University, where he also obtained a Master of Clinical Research degree. This was followed by a fellowship in pediatric hospice and palliative medicine at Akron Children's Hospital. His research interests include identifying barriers to pediatric palliative care and has presented on this topic nationally and internationally."
