Dr. Timothy Sternberg is a licensed Florida physician and dentist. Dr. Sternberg graduated from the University of Florida and University of Miami School of Medicine. He trained at Bethesda Naval Hospital and the Medical University of South Carolina. He holds certifications with the American Board of Anesthesiology, American Board of Pain Medicine, and the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Care. He has been practicing pain management for over 25 years.
He retired as Captain, Medical Corps, USN, following his last assignment as Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, Naval Medical Center San Diego. During his time in the U.S. Navy, he practiced throughout the United States, Panama, the Persian Gulf, and Puerto Rico. He earned numerous military awards, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. Dr. Sternberg has published over 40 articles in peer reviewed medical journals, and has lectured widely to medical, nursing, and dental groups.
Dr. Sternberg previously served as Associate Professor and Director of the Center for Pain Management at University of Florida/Shands Jacksonville. He now practices pain management and palliative care with Spine Care & Pain Management, and is closely aligned with St. Vincent's Medical Center Riverside. With proven expertise in all aspects of pain management, some of his particular interests are treatment of complicated pain problems, cancer pain, facial pain and vertebral compression fractures. Patient centered and with meticulous attention to detail, Dr. Sternberg practices safe, effective, and practical pain management.
