I had a stellate ganglion nerve block with Dr. Matway and was definitely nervous. But he was great at keeping me calm and comfortable and making eye contact with me to get me to stay calm. I trusted him and his calm and confident manner, and because I felt like I could trust him, I was able to relax and get through it awake. He reassured me, made sure I understood every symptom I was feeling was normal, and checked on me frequently after the procedure. He was awesome about going slowly and taking my discomfort seriously, and adjusted the needle and rate of administration to my reports of discomfort. I was really glad that he was the doctor doing the procedure because he was very reassuring and patient with me. His presence and positive demeanor got me to be way more relaxed and I thought to myself during the procedure, "As long as he's my doctor, I can do this. I can trust him and he'll keep me safe." I felt way more confident with him at my bedside!

Dr. Matway is very compassionate about his patients. Even with complex pain conditions he provides many non opiod treatment options. SCS should be a consideration to many patients vs. taking opiods.

He isn't as smart as he thinks he is. I also go to a well known Neurosurgeon and I'm on the same protocol for bulging disc. he had about a cow when he saw my med list. I had to ask him if he understood what I have because I do. the only reason why I went to him is I can't get in to see the new neurologist

Just a follow up visit but he shows great concern for my condition. Not just wanting to push pills but gave viable treatment options.
