This content was provided by Dr. Crombleholme "Dr. Timothy M. Crombleholme is a fetal and neonatal surgeon recognized worldwide for his experience in fetoscopic surgery, open fetal surgery, image-guided fetal intervention and EXIT procedures. He is board certified in general and pediatric surgery. He received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and did his surgery residency, as well as a fetal surgery research fellowship, at University of California San Francisco (UCSF) under Michael R. Harrison, M.D., the father of fetal surgery. He completed his pediatric surgical training in Boston before joining Mary D'Alton, M.D., and Diana Bianchi, M.D., and forming the Fetal Treatment Program at Tufts Medical Center. Together, Drs. Bianchi, Crombleholme and D'Alton co-authored the book Fetology: Diagnosis and Management of the Fetal Patient, 1st and 2nd editions, widely considered the gold standard textbook in the field. In 2018, Dr. Crombleholme joined the Fetal Care Center Dallas as Director and became the National Director for Fetal Health for HCA Healthcare of America. Additionally, Dr. Crombleholme became Medical Director at Medical City Dallas in 2018. Dr. Crombleholme has authored or co-authored more than 300 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and reviews, and has an active basic research laboratory developing innovative fetal interventions such as placental gene therapy for the treatment of severe intrauterine fetal growth restriction. He is also actively involved in clinical research in advancing fetal surgery for the treatment of conditions such as twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), meningomyelocele (MMC), congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) and bladder outlet obstruction (BOO), among many others."
