Good doctor, well-mannered. It is why I trusted him. However, I got 2 adverse reactions from a transforaminal epidural steroid injection for 2 rare chronic issues with the second one nearly killing me. I was recommended the epidural by 3 doctors and 1 physician's assistant. I trusted all of them. 4 days after the injection, I went to the E.R. and now suffer from chronic complications. I was never informed that such reactions were possible. Contrast was used, fluoroscopy was used, and a doctor whom according to Dr. Choll Kim and his staff, did the procedure. I'm worried that no doctor would know how to help my new chronic issues, and unfortunately, they don't know either. The only doctor who disagreed with the injection was my neurologist. I was a fool for not following up with the doctor who has been studying the nervous system for over 30 years. Dr. Chong and Dr. Kim apologized to me for the distress it has caused me. Second opinions, are important everyone!

Couldnt have been more disappointed. When he entered the room he didn't even introduce himself to me or my wife. I felt like i was talking to a robot. Never felt so unwanted. When talking about my current meds the first thing he wants to do is take me completely off of them. He said he had no information about me yet his reason for taking me off is my liver looks bad. First time i heard this. Not going back.

This MD is only interested in getting you off opioids. Upped my Gabapentin (Neurotin) and I had MAJOR issues. When I went in he thought it was odd I had issues since I had been on 300mg (upped to 600) but he did NOT up me by 100 at a time. This drug makes you a zombie until you can wean off. Also thought my ROM (range of Motion) was within normal range (ask my ortho or chiropractor-they will tell you I have lost rotation and elevation). Feel like a zombie as I detox from the Gabapentin.

I was referred to him by my primary doc and because he's so close to home, I ignored the reviews. HUGE MISTAKE! He is without a doubt the worst doctor I've ever encountered! He expresses no emotion and won't personally engage with his patients. I had a medication regiment that was effective for the last 6 years until I suffered trauma. Dr. Chong prescribed new meds that were ineffective, but I guess he didn't believe me. It sure didn't matter that I was in excruciating pain several days later.

I like Dr T. Chung. He took the time during initial consult to hear my answers to his questions. He has a friendly, warm 'bedside' manner. His decisions about how to treat my pain were thoughtful and considered.

Nicest and best doctor I meet. I had back pain for two years, and yesterday I got my lumbar epidural steroid injection. My back is already better. The injection was not painful at all. I recommend Dr. Chong. He has the latest equipments to give the injection correctly.
