Dr. Lenters earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago in 1999. His orthopedic surgery residency was completed in Grand Rapids, and he subsequently completed a fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow surgery at the University of Washington in 2005. He then joined River Valley Orthopedics, where is actively involved with training residents as the director of the Shoulder and Elbow curriculum for the Grand Rapids Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program. He is also involved with teaching on a national level, assisting with courses designed to train other surgeons how to properly care for and surgically treat all types of shoulder problems. Be assured that he enjoys taking care of shoulder problems. He is one of few orthopedic surgeons in Michigan who has spent additional time learning advanced shoulder surgical techniques.
Dr. Lenters has worked hard to develop a team of providers to assist with evaluation of shoulder problems, initiation of treatment, assistance with recovery, and effective communication. His team includes athletic trainers, physician assistants, and medical assistants.
