Care Philosophy

My approach to patient care involves treating the whole person. I find it important to address not only your medical needs, but your emotional and psychological ones as well. In addition to focusing on treatment of the disease, I think it is equally crucial to urge my patients to lead a healthy life, and I will help you learn about the different aspects of wellness. While I treat all types of cancer and hematologic conditions, I have a particular interest and training in breast cancer.Read more

Dr. Svahn is a highly intelligent and highly experienced oncologist/hematologic who also is a wonderful human being. I was diagnosed with breast cancer almost a year ago, and she presented me with a plan to save my life. I believe she has saved my life. She is also one of the most compassionate human beings I have ever met. I will always be grateful to her.
