Dr. Youm operated on both of my hips, three months apart. Arthroscopic surgery for FAI impingement. Both procedures were successful. Very little pain after surgeries. Left hip was almost 5 months ago. Right hip was a little over 2 months ago. PT is a bit painful due to stiffness and minor arthritis in hips, but I'm managing 3x/week and walking about 3 miles a day at a brisk pace. Dr. Youm is an excellent surgeon. He's also a very nice guy. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Youm is a wonderful doctor! He saved me from years of pain. After 8 years of pain in my hip and seeing 7 doctors I was referred to Dr. Youm. It only took him 15 minutes to diagnose me with a tear in my labrum as it did not show up in previous x-rays. My surgery was pretty much painless. A year later and I am almost 100% pain free. I can actually take a walk without being in pain. Dr. Youm is friendly and easy to talk to you. He answers and explains all my questions. I highly recommend him.

I have had both of my shoulders worked on by Dr. Youm. The first was done in 2007 and the second was 2017. In both cases there were large tears in the rotator cuff, labrum and biceps. In both cases Dr Youm was always very informative, advising me of the options (surgery verses physical therapy only). In both cases physical therapy alone did not resolve the issues and I opted for surgery. Both procedures were very successful. Dr Youm is a very talented and highly knowledgeable surgeon.

I tore my labrum, rotator cuff, and upper biceps playing beach volleyball. I was told that the only option is to fix this was with a surgery. In 4 months after a Stem Cell Injection by Dr. Youm, the pain has almost disappeared and I started weight training. Happy to be back in the game in a few months. Dr. Youm was very straightforward and kept my expectations realistic. Also he spent a good amount of time educating me on the cat scan of what my situation was about. Overall, very pleased!

Dr. Youm performed hip surgery 2 years ago, (for hip impingement and labrum tear, at age 45). Not only was the first surgeon to diagnose my pain (of 3 years), he patiently walked me through the procedure, it went better than I expected, his team helped with submitting claims to insurance, Dr. Youm was always available and supportive. I am back to running, and full range of motion, including hot yoga. I highly recommend Dr. Youm, particularly since no one else could even diagnose.

Dr. Youm provides exceptional care. He takes the time to explain your condition, treatment and length of recovery so that you understand it completely. My recovery time was right on schedule. I had a torn labrum in my left hip. Where other doctors said my only option was hip replacement because of my age even though there were no other real factors to warrant it, Dr. Youm felt very confident that I was a good candidate for repairing the torn labrum. Dr. Youm was right and now walking is fun.

I am a competitive runner who had a 2 page MRI report detailing my issues. Dr. Youm broke the tie between two other top docs who disagreed on my diagnosis. He performed surgery in April and I am back running again 4 months later. Feeling perfect.
in Randolph, NJ |
Dr. Youm was extraordinary picking up on labral tears in my hip after my local MD said it was fine. I came to see him in a wheel chair and on heavy medications due to severe pain. Post op, I was totally pain free! He followed me with great care for 12 months. 15 months after the first, the second hip also developed problems. Again, the radiologist said nothing was there. Dr. Youm identified the labral tear and again fixed it. I am so very grateful to have found this caring, bright doctor

Caring, professional and courteous. Conscientious of my traveling time. Office wait was less than ten minutes. Paperwork was completed within one week. Excellent surgeon!
