I am a nurse and I’ve been having some neurological issues over the past several months. I was referred to Dr Swift and I left feeling like he did not believe in my symptoms. I was told to go home, stop seeing drs, do some yoga or acupuncture because there is nothing wrong with me. I feel that he believes that I am wanting something to be wrong but this is the farthest thing from the truth. I do not want to be sick, I want to keep working and I have two children to take care of. The symptoms I am having are very real even if he doesn’t believe me. As a nurse I preach to my patients daily to trust their doctors but after the way I was treated I get the level of distrust. I only hope and pray that one day when Dr Swift needs a doctor to believe him when he says something is wrong that he finds a doctor that is more compassionate and open to listening than he was to me.

My interaction with Dr. Swift was informative and calming. He explained what my symptoms were likely caused by -- and answered all my questions (no matter how 'off the wall') with aplomb and intelligence. His sense of humor was delightful and it was apparent that he cared about my case. Yes, we had to wait a long time, but Dr. Schmidt (the attending) did apologize for the wait, which made it less annoying (seems like all MDs have long waiting times between appointment and actual examinations any more).

Dr. Swift's Reply –
Hi Bea, thank you for reviewing Dr. Swift!
I don’t doubt Dr Swift’s knowledge related to his specialty or his caring for patients. Unfortunately, I’ve experienced negative encounters related to advice given from a perspective that, in my opinion, didn’t take in realities of a less than affluent and less than optimal family situation. In other words, in the attempt to treat the whole patient he didn’t take in the factors related to the whole patient and started giving well intended advice that in execution was condescending, rude, preachy and impractical to a family that is already stressed beyond normal capacity.

I absolutely love Dr Swift. He takes his time, has a grand sense of humour and listens. I'd prefer him as my primary Dr, rather than just the attending Dr. Although we may have differing views on cervicogenic dizziness and trigger point therapy , he still listens to my crazy balance stories from ataxia, muscle spasticity and migraine issues and treats me like a daughter. Myra, his secretary, is a rare gem, handling complaints, needs and emotions with grace and calmness.

Dr. Swift's Reply –
Thank you for leaving a review for Dr. Swift!
Dr. Swift himself was very personable, reviewed all the the MRI's and previous reports I brought for my son who has complete agenesis of the corpus collosum. I had trouble even finding a neurologist who was familiar with this brain disorder since it's very rare. However when I received the written report of the visit done by Dr. Tshionyl who did the interview and notes, I was very displeased with the amount of inaccurate information including the fact that the diagnosis did NOT even state CACC.

Treats medicaid disabled patients unfairly. If you don't work despite DX. Of physically disabled he will says all your symptoms are due to depression in spite of DR from MR I of Hydromylia ,Disc Disease, Nerve damage, plus..He refused to treat.
