Thomas Stone, M.D.
Dr. Stone has been taking care of retina patients in Kentucky since 2002. After residency and chief residency at Duke, he did his vitreoretinal fellowship at Emory University. He has been at Retina Associates of Kentucky since then. He is also an invited speaker at numerous national meetings, and is the Editor of the PAT Survey, a survey of the worldwide retina community sponsored by the American Society of Retinal Specialists. He has published numerous articles and often presents his research at national meetings. His clinical interests include macular degeneration, diabetes, uveitis and retinal detachment. He and his partners are engaged in cutting edge research on many retinal diseases, including wet and dry macular degeneration, histoplasmosis and diabetes. The work he is presenting today comes from his work with the Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research Network, or DRCR.
